A Visit to the World famous Tea State of Ilam in Nepal
Ilam is a small town in Eastern Nepal situated in the hilly district of Ilam, adjoining the Darjeeling District of India. The tea states are situated at a height between 600m to 3700m above sea level. It boasts of spots like Maipokhari, Sandakpur, Chingtapu, Shree Antu and Siddhithumka to mention a few places that has been able to attract visitor by its sheer beauty. Most of the people either follow Hinduism and Buddhism in this district. Some of the renowned tea gardens of this area are Ilam, Sokktim, Fikkal, Jasbire, Kanyam. Types of tea produced in this area are T.G, FOP, GFOF. Almost all the tea produced in this area are exported to Germany, Denmark, France, Switzerland and United Kingdom. The method of production is still by old techniques, one of the foctory is already 110 years old.

Ilam Tour 17 days

Day 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu, check in hotel
Day 02 : Sightseeing in Kathmandu Day
Day 03 : Fly to Bhadrapur and check in Hotel Krishna International. Visit the Tea gardens near by and Bhadrapur town.

Day 04 : Wake up early in the morning and drive to Kanyam (approx 40km from the rest house) for sunrise and after strolling through the tea garden, drive to Pasupatinagar to visit the cheese factory. This is the border town to Darjeeling district of India. From here drive to Illam and visit the tea garden and inspect the factory and the ways in which they produce the renowned Ilam Tea. Overnight in Ilam.

Day 05 : Tour in Ilam. Drive Back to Bhadrapur.
Day 06 : A tour to the Satar village (Satar are a tribe who hunt mouse and rats). Return back to the hotel and then fly back to Kathmandu.

Day 07 : Sightseeing and free afternoon for shopping.

Day 08 : Escorted to the airport for departure from Kathmandu .

Ilam Tea Garden: 8 days

Day 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu, check in hotel
